What is the proof to convince me that Jesus rose from the dead?

Over 500 people saw him

A Facts and Faith website article says that over 500 people saw Jesus on 12 separate occasions. That’s not new information. Bible readers picked that up years ago from scripture. Paul says this:

… he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.” (1 Cor. 15:3–8, ESV) The website lists all the appearances and the persons that saw Jesus alive, experiencing him physically. The gospel accounts list the encounters on the day he was raised plus other occasions. Jesus interacted with various people enough times and ways to prove his resurrected life. Luke summed it up well in Acts 1:3 “He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.

Jesus overcame Thomas’ doubt

Believing that Jesus rose is a simple matter of faith in God. “Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”” (John 20:27–29, ESV) Doubters think it’s their choice to believe in God or not. The Bible says that faith comes as a gift of the Holy Spirit, who enables the person to believe. A person can say no to the Spirit’s spark of faith to believe. But they can’t believe on their own.
